Discovering the views of Viverone Lake

Lands of the Oropa Way

The views of Viverone Lake

Among lakes and castles discovering hidden treasures

Two courageous young women who followed in their father's footsteps in bestowing beauty on the landscape, dedicating their lives to cultivating vineyards on dry stone walls; a community that meets on Sundays by lighting the ancient consortium oven, handing down traditions and old recipes; a village that lives reflected in the serene waters of the lake, guarded by its precious castle.

As you travel at a slow pace through these lands, you can learn the stories of those who guard the beauty and culture of the place. Stop in Roppolo for three days, give yourself time to appreciate hidden corners, meet special people or sip a good glass of local wine, through two loop itineraries to walk and a nice bike ride around Lake Viverone.

You will stay at the Movimento Lento Home, a meeting and sharing place for "slow travelers" and a symbol of hospitality along the trails.

The itineraries are also available on theSlowBI app, which can be downloaded for free from the stores.

How to appreciate the Oropa Way every season

During the hot season the first stage can be a bit more strenuous than you might think for mileage and elevation gain because it is largely in the sun. Also, there can be a lot of mosquitoes in the Serra forest, so on the second and third stages we recommend that you carry repellent to keep them away.
