Guesthouse of the Sanctuary of Graglia

The origin of the Sanctuary of Graglia dates back to 1616, when there were plans to create a Sacred Mount of 100 votive chapels on St. Charles Hill. But the work encountered many difficulties and finally the project was abandoned. In 1659, plans were made to transform the votive chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto into what is now the Shrine. The 1930s saw the creation of the present little garden of Our Lady, characterized by the splendid stone "burnel" (fountain). The large church, with a Greek-cross plan, is 42 meters long and 32 meters wide and has a 38-meter-high octagonal dome decorated with perspective effects by Fabrizio Galliari.
